Still Catching Up: March (16mo.)

Mommy did the unthinkable.
But I didn't want my little girl to have a mullet.
She made it really difficult - it's very hard to cut hair with her head whipping back and forth.
I went a little too short though...

Grandma and Grandpap came out to visit us

She went through a kissing phase, which was awesome!
She even puckered up to strangers in the grocery store.
At Grandmom and Pop-pop's
using her flashlight to explore

She has continued to be a fantastic eater
and will eat just about anything I put in front of her.

Mike spent most of this year so far traveling to Delaware where he stays during the week.  Elaine and I just stuck it out at home.

My work sent me to Dallas for training.
They took us to play Top Golf, which was really fun!
I wasn't as bad as I thought I would be.
We tried making single serve desserts in a mug one night.  Twas fun.

Catching Up: February (15mo.)

I will try to make this bare-bones, as I am seriously trying to catch up!!!

Mike went to Singapore for a work trip, stopping in London for a few days on his way over.  He got to see two soccer games, which has been a lifelong dream of his.

Her hair got long enough to put up in a ponytail.  Sort of.

We just hang out and have fun.

She of course was practicing this new
awesome trick of walking!
People were always asking me if she was becoming a terror and getting into everything now that she is mobile.  I said really, she's not.  She is such a dainty little girl - she doesn't like knocking things over by accident (that usually gets her crying), or spilling, or destroying, or climbing.  I know if/when we ever have a boy, it's going to be a huge change!
She was into making these faces this month.

Just showing evidence that her eyes are still...gray?
She had her 15mo. doctor's checkup.  Her language skills are advanced, as she can string two words together sometimes, or four syllables such as "Bye-bye DaDa."  She can say probably around 25 words?  And signing maybe 15 or so (I haven't been teaching her a lot of new ones).  She continues to hold her hands up and ask where things/people have gone and has extended that into hiding around a corner and peeking out.  Or behind a blanket.

We experienced our first family stomach bug episode, after she brought it home on a Friday. It is really awful seeing your little child getting sick, quite scary even if you know it is pretty normal and not all that dangerous.  We were supposed to go to our friend's house for the SuperBowl but I said let's all stay home in case Mike and I start getting ill or are carrying the bug.  Good thing we did!

On to the next month!

Catching Up: January (14mo.)

The New Year

God has been showering us with blessings every day so far in 2014.  There is no end to His goodness!!  (For example, waking up at 5:30AM on a Saturday feeling refreshed and well-rested 0_0.)

We did a little craft project together with our top five resolutions (right) - I should write above them i) Make our lives a prayer!  Because that is always number one.
My new look!  New glasses and haircut.
I needed an update.

A Friday night date after my final interview for a job.  It didn't work out, but I'm back in the game.
I lost count of the snow storms and inches we've gotten since January.
This was just one of them overnight.
I started a home organization challenge.
The first task was to organize the fridge and freezer.
(Remember that "before picture? ;)
It's been really helpful.  No more losing food in the back
then throwing it out because it went bad.

It was hard getting her picture
because she wouldn't hold still!

The big news this month - Elaine started walking on her own!!!  That happened 1/22 with Daddy.  She was also big into the hands-up, "Where did it go?" gesture, then finding the objects.  She was also into saying "Uh-oh!"
