We're passed our due date by three days! I was really hoping for a triple-whammie of getting engaged, married, and having our first baby in consecutive Octobers, but alas here we are in November. With my family's record, I NEVER expected to go late. My doctor scheduled me for an induction first thing Monday morning, although he said he expects me to go before then (I assume that's based on statistics, since I'm told physically examining the woman gives no indication). They usually schedule inductions some time in the 41st week, and I turn 41 weeks Monday. He said it gets more dangerous for the baby the further we get from our due date, plus he had a canceled induction that day (the woman went into labor before the appointment) so it's partly a scheduling convenience. Whatever, I don't care - she'll be here in the next four days!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited!!!!!!
I'm officially not returning to work as of today. Since we have power and internet back at our apartment, I can do a little work remotely. I could not handle the drive into Philadelphia taking three unreliable highways, one of which has long stretches with no shoulder to get by. My work is very understanding and supportive and has wished me well.
Mike is absolutely thriving in his new job! It hasn't lost its excitement factor in the least--in fact it's growing more exciting with time. He's been placed right into the action and been appointed as the lead engineer for some projects that were already in motion. They have given him very positive feedback. :) I'm so proud of him!
Hurricane Sandy was an adventure; we lost power Monday night and didn't get it back until Wednesday evening. We spent most of the time over at my parents' house with them, Kelly, Sean, and Mark, enjoying their company and their generator (running water, flushing toilets, working refrigerator, etc.). Thank God for that, and thank Him again for keeping me out of labor during the hurricane winds! I had to laugh at ourselves, that at this point in life we have almost no property to worry about in hurricanes, we just kept looking out our window to make sure our grill hadn't blown over. God bless all the people still without power and who suffered any losses!
Saturday we went to Villanova's homecoming picnic and football game. We only saw a few classmates from our year, but it was really nice to catch up with them and turned out to be a beautiful autumn day. The football game was high-scoring, which is always exciting, but frustrating because it was a pretty bad loss for us.

Today I'm at our apartment with the Colliers keeping me company. :) Mike went into his office and might have to go in tomorrow. Between now and Monday we're going to be taking it easy and of course staying super attuned to my every sensation. And waiting, waiting, waiting...
You know, I think I made a blog post the night before Isaac was born, too. I guess that's all it takes!
