Martin
   - 18mo. Understanding numbers. Holds up one finger, says three when he sees a numeral. Can say "TWO pacifiers" when he sees two.
  -  "Danananana...BATMAN."
  - Shows compassion: brings Elaine blanket. Starting to share.
  -Picks out words he recognizes in conversations (back in his carseat) and will say something back about it.
  -Started to play hide-and-seek. LOVES it.
  - Fear of thunder. "Woah.  Boom."
  -Tells me to sing "Ball Game." If I sing anything else, he says "No."

Elaine
  - Three and one-half:  can spell and read her name. Found an envelope with her name on it.
  - Sight reads words ("Look, this book is written by Leslie Patricelli.")
  - Can express feelings very well.
